The Cochon Volant range is a reference to the boars who eat their grapes every year before harvest, as stealing and flying share the same word in French, they decided to make these flying pigs and not thieves.

Grenache Blanc, as the name suggests, is the white-berried form of Grenache Noir and plays an understated but important role in France's Languedoc-Roussillon, where it accounts for more than 6,000 hectares of vineyard. It produces full-bodied wines with supple fruit which are often used in blended wines, but which are seen as single varietals as well. It is also one of the important varieties used in the production of white Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Since Greek merchants first introduced the cultivation of vines to the Languedoc more than 2,000 years ago, the Corbières region has been a prime region for wine making. In 1958, Lionel Faivre, an Algerian wine maker took over Caraguilhes with the ambition of making authentic wine with organic grapes. An environmentalist, Lionel pioneered natural farming and wine-making practices by employing sustainable organic techniques. His refusal to use chemical fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides was almost unheard of at the time. Nearly thirty years later, he completed the final transformation of Caraguilhes into full organic production.
Today it is owned by Pierre Gabison who is incredibly passionate about Caraguilhes and is focused on producing top quality wines from healthy vines, a pure expression in the bottle of the vineyard’s unique terroir. Caraguilhes vineyards have been committed to full organic farming since 1987. With this early awareness of the need to respect the earth and its terroir, our soils and vines have evolved to become richer and healthier. With healthier soils and healthier vines, we are growing better quality fruit, which in turn allows us to make better quality wine.
The organic wines do not use pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. We use only environmentally-friendly methods and resources to grow our grapes, such as natural pest and weed control. Plants other than vines are grown in and around our vineyards to maintain and improve biodiversity and soil structure.
